			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>I was talking to Joe Tan, (undoubtedly a wordprss genius) the other day about how much forward momentum wordprss still has on the web. Here are some things he had to say&#8230;</p>
<p>WordPress is now chosen as a <strong>popular publishing platform</strong> by many large companies including a handful of <a href="http://wordpress.org/showcase/tag/fortune-500/">fortune 500 companies</a>.</p>
<p>But <strong>wordpress is not yet perfect</strong> and still has some work to do to lower some hurdles for people who are not so tech-savvy.</p>
<p>These are the tools recommend:</p>
<h4>1. Wordoff</h4>
<p>comes to the rescue when your post get screwed up for some reason. Just copy the code you see in the HTML view and paste it into wordoff &#8211; it will clean up the code and make it presentable again.  Your post will likely to have issues when you copy and paste from Microsoft Word so beaware!</p>
<p>http://wordoff.org</p>
<p><a href="http://www.sz-solutions.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2010/01/wordoff.jpg"><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-29" title="wordoff" src="http://www.sz-solutions.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2010/01/wordoff.jpg" alt="wordoff Make Your Life with WordPress Blog A Little Easier" width="314" height="72" /></a></p>
<h4>2. ScribeFire</h4>
<p>is a <a href="http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/">FireFox</a> addon that lets you easily craft your blog posts by letting you drag and drop images, text, and etc while browsing on the sites. It could be useful tool to help you save some time in creating a good looking post!</p>
<p><img class="alignnone" title="ScribeFire - blog editing tool" src="https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/images/p/20082/1208782596" alt=" Make Your Life with WordPress Blog A Little Easier" width="560" height="335" /></p>
<p><span id="more-28"></span></p>
<h4>3. Broken Link Checker</h4>
<p>Broken links on your site are detrimental to your SEO performance. This wordpress plugin will help you scan and find any broken links on your post.</p>
<p>http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/broken-link-checker/</p>
<p><a href="http://wordpress.tv/category/how-to/">WordPress.tv&#8217;s how to</a> section has lots of videos to quickly educate you about how to use wordpress.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>I just found a solution to what I have been pondering for some time now, and I wanted to share this with anyone who might benefit from this solution -not enough seem to be out there yet <img src='http://www.sz-solutions.com/blog/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif' alt=':)' class='wp-smiley' title="Solved: Getresponse WordPress Redirect Issue" /> </p>
<p>I love GetResponse for its email list management and pretty robust auto-responders. I personally use it and highly recommend it to my clients as well, but the issue I ran into was that you&#8217;ll get a &#8220;Page Not Found&#8221; error when you redirect subscribers to land on a confirmation or thank you page you created within WordPress.</p>
<p>I suspected the cause to be associated with redirect, but I couldn&#8217;t figure this out.</p>
<p>However, I finally found a simple workaround that gets the job done. Here&#8217;s now:</p>
<ol>
<li>Create a HTML page like www.example.com/processing.html</li>
<li>And redirect to your wordpress page in your .htaccess file like this below
<p>Redirect 301 /processing.html http://www.example.com/thank-you-for-your-subscription/</p>
</li>
<li>Make sure to change the value for  &#8220;confirmation_url&#8221; hidden element on your HTML and mission accomplished!</li>
</ol>
<p>Not sure how long this will be up, but here&#8217;s the page to the wordpress forum where I got this idea from:</p>
<p>http://wordpress.org/support/topic/257370</p>
<p>That&#8217;s it -thanks!</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>More often than not, Internet Marketers and organically grown 100+ pages monster sites have hundreds of static web pages that needs its copyright year in the footer updated.</p>
<p>Here is a simple piece of code that automatically updates copyright years. Just place this code once and that takes care of it every year.</p>
<pre class="brush: jscript;">Copyright &amp;copy;
&lt;script type=&quot;text/javascript&quot;&gt;
var startYear=2009
var d=new Date();
yr=d.getFullYear();
if (yr!=startYear) {
   document.write(startYear+&quot;-&quot;+yr);
   } else {
   document.write(startYear);
}
&lt;/script&gt;
Your Site Name</pre>
<p>
<p>There you have it. It should look like the copywrite notice in my footer below.</p>
<p>The reason I&#8217;m sharing this with you is that, one of my customers asked me to update the copyright year on his entire site. I told him that he could have saved money hiring me updating all of his 152 static HTML pages.</p>
<p>You can see the live action in the footer of this blog as well.</p>
<p>Enjoy <img src='http://www.sz-solutions.com/blog/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif' alt=':)' class='wp-smiley' title="A Little Code Strategy You Should Know To Save You Money" /> </p>
